Chokhana - The Weave
Teesta
Teesta
Teesta captures the spirit of the river it is named after cool, refreshing, and eternally graceful. Just as the Teesta river carves a path of beauty through the mountains, this saree is designed to create a striking silhouette with its light-reflecting metallic tissue. It represents the softer side of the Tarang collection, the gentle ripples seen at daybreak.
This saree is crafted from a sheer, high-grade metallic tissue silk in a soft lilac-pink hue. The body features a rhythmic zigzag Leheriya weave in silver zari, while the border and pallu are adorned with "Lata" (vine) motifs that symbolize the lush flora found along the riverbanks. The edges are finished with a sharp magenta piping to add a subtle pop of contrast.
To highlight the cool tones of Teesta, pair it with silver or white-gold jewelry. A soft, dewy makeup look and a sleeveless gold blouse will enhance the ethereal, translucent nature of the fabric.
